Code
Every Rainbow assembly is organized and governed by the uniform code of by-laws of the Supreme Assembly of Rainbow for Girls. The girl elected to serve as Worthy Advisor has the complete control and responsibility for the performance and conduct of the Assembly. However, the Assembly is, at all times directly under the guiding hand of the Mother Advisor.
In addition to the Mother Advisor, there is an Advisory Board of adults consisting of majority members, parents and others to assist in the supervision of Assembly projects.
Activities
The four main types of activities for Rainbow are:
1. Service Projects
2. Charity Projects
3. Fund Raising Projects
4. Fun Projects
Meetings
Assemblies typically meet twice a month from September through June. At these meetings the members plan and organize activities making all of the major decisions. They also learn meeting protocol and parliamentary procedures. Adults are always there to provide support, guidance and help interpret the rules. Members also learn to memorize meaningful lectures and be prepared for extemporaneous speeches. Some meetings conclude with a presentation or unique entertainment.
Charity / Service
Through service projects, members learn first hand the joy that comes from helping others. Rainbow teaches its members to be charitable at all times.
Many Juristrictions support a different charity every year. Some charities include: Scottish Rite Hospitals, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the American Cancer Society to name a few.
On the local Assembly level, girls plan and follow through with service projects on an ongoing basis. Members enjoy Christmas caroling at Nursing homes or visiting hospitals and providing a warm smile or touch of the hand.
As a result of their membership as a Rainbow Girl many members continue serving their community, church and home for life.
Members participate in planning, organizing and participating in fund raising project in order to help fund activities, maintain a budget, reduce out of pocket expenses and donate to various charities.
